Nipple and Areola Reduction Aesthetics
Nipple and Areola Reduction Aesthetics
Breast aesthetics is not only related to the overall volume of the breast but also closely associated with the size and position of the nipple and the colored ring around it (areola). Due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, genetic factors, or aging, enlargement in the areola area, sagging in the nipple, or asymmetry may occur. Nipple aesthetics aims to surgically arrange such deformations to achieve a more proportional appearance.
How is Areola Reduction Performed?
This procedure is a short-term surgical intervention that can usually be performed under local anesthesia. The excess outer part of the enlarged areola tissue is circularly removed, and the skin is repaired. Care is taken not to damage the milk ducts during the application, aiming for the patient not to lose breastfeeding function in the future.
Recovery Process
The post-operative recovery process is quite fast. Since the surgical incisions are hidden in the natural color transition line around the areola, the possibility of a prominent scar is low. Patients can usually return to their normal lives comfortably within a few days.
Results in any surgical or interventional procedure may vary from person to person. It is recommended to get a detailed opinion from your physician before the procedure.
